Best low end phone.

I got THE HTC DESIRE 626 on Sale for $99 from best buy after reading many negative reviews. Despite the poor reviews I bought the phone because the hardware speaks for itself. The biggest advantage this phone has over the Moto E is the 1.5gb of RAM. The extra memory really makes the phone speedy and you don't have to refresh screens so often. On the downside the phone is flooded with bloatware from HTC and doesn't come with some common Google Apps.

There are about 20 HTC APPS that cannot be removed however after updating everything you're left with about 3gb of internal storage. On the bright side the phone holds an impressive 200gb external SD CARD, making this a media powerhouse. I played 2 high end games to test the hardware and they both ran fine. This is a very elegant looking phone with an impressive 5 inch display. Perfect for fitting in your pocket. It's made of all plastic and very slippery so I highly recommend a rugged case otherwise it will slip out of your hands. Bottom line is that this is the top low end phone that is excellent for work and play.

I found a prince in the HTC Desire 626s. After years of replacing every entry-level Virgin Mobile smartphone within 12 months thanks to shortcomings of one sort of another I was sure I had at last found a winner in the Samsung Galaxy SIII, which I purchased at a very large big-box retailer earlier this year. My Galaxy, however, stuttered when I texted — resulting in a lot of errors due to the phone's failure to keep up with my rather slow rate of speed. The other headache: The Galaxy SIII wouldn't reliably link up to my Kenwood head unit for Pandora streaming. Worse, even when I wasn't using a hands-free bluetooth connection, callers sometimes complained that my voice clipped and dropped out. (Which I blamed on the network, initially, when in reality it was my phone.)

In search of a solution, I "downgraded" recently to the cheaper-but-newer HTC Desire 626s. For the first time in two years the problems I began encountering first with LG's Volt and then with my Samsung Galaxy SIII have been solved: The HTC Desire 626s works beautifully hands-free in my car using Google's alternative to HTC's hard-of-hearing dialer app. Another pleasant surprise: Call clarity is much improved both in terms of hearing other callers and their experience in talking with me.

Perhaps most unexpectedly, the HD screen is particularly nice. I have owned a number of smartphones that offered very bright, vivid colors but this screen, more than just being colorful, is tack sharp. Unlike the other smartphones I've owned, there isn't a ton of glare coming off HTC's screen and so the look of the screen is more akin to a colorful page of print, not your typical back-lit LED screen look.

It's an awesome phone perfect battery life and screen resolution. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a good phone. It has predictive text that makes life so much easier. The cameras are good. The phone does take a while to load everything the first time it's turned on but other than that it's perfect

Excellent phone, excellent price

Excellent phone, excellent price. First things first people...this is a budget friendly device...although it feels nice, solid, and not cheap @ all, it is cheap, and so the specifications on this phone are a bit low quality, but then what do you expect when you buy a low budget, mid range phone?? You get what you pay for. For those of you who are used to phones of better, & superior quality and decide to settle for less...you will be disappointed. If your an app addict...take a pass on this.

SD cards (for the most part) only hold music and photos, apps can't be moved, and bloatware from HTC and virgin mobile, are crammed on here taking up quite a bit of space..leaving you with not much room...so, although I am blown away with the performance of this device, others will not. The placement of the power & volume buttons, are randomly located on the right side, if you have a problem with that position..get over it. Adapt. I have.

That's not a big deal to me. The camera is decent, for this particular phone..I've also seen a lot of complaints on the keyboard for texting..also once again, it's fine, I like it, and a 3rd party app is not required. You can access directional keys, by going to text settings on the keyboard, you can install various languages for texting in, as well. The 5 inch screen is smaller than what I was used to, but it's also fine. Not too big or small, just right. Anyway, this is a great phone!!! I am satisfied! Don't set your expectations so high, and you won't be disappointed, plain & simple! This phone, to me gets more than "just the job done", it's everything I've always wanted & more! Thank you seller!!!

Good for the Pricepoint

First and foremost, this is a virgin mobile phone, so make sure that is what you are looking for.
I came to this phone from a Galaxy S3, which I had enjoyed quite a bit. The HTC interface was not as intuitive as the samsung interface, but there's nothing wrong with it. The phone is fairly fast, and I've never had problems with it having any lag or apps running slowly. So far, the battery life has been noticably better for me than that of the Galaxy, so that has been a very pleasant surprise.

My biggest complaint with this phone is the ridiculous amount of bloat-ware that came reinstalled on it. The phone only has 8 gigs of storage space availible on the phone, and about 3.5 gigs of that were taken up by apps and drivers that I can't uninstall, which severely limits the amount of apps and music that you could put on this phone.

Pros:
-Battery Life
-Screen size (if you like a big screen)
-speed/ processing power

Cons:
-bloatware
-lack of name brand cases(lifeproof/otterbox)
