Before this, I had an HTC Desire I liked quite a bit. Once the screen cracked, I went searching on Amazon for another Desire to replace it. Unfortunately, it was either out of stock or no longer being sold (I can't remember which). I located this Samsung Galaxy J3 to use on my VIRGIN MOBILE network, and purchased it SIMPLY for the 16g internal memory. I was tired of never having any space for the apps I wanted. You know, the ones that DON'T transfer over to a memory card? Yeah, those.
I received my Samsung Galaxy J3 on 27 June 2016. Since then I have been overjoyed with the performance. I started adding apps from Google Play and, where previously I could only hold a few apps before having to delete them prior to adding another app, this one just kept going and going! I had loaded well over 50 apps before I noted that they were loading directly on to the phone and NOT on to the added memory card! And with memory to spare. Amazing! The screen size is terrific and not overly sensitive to touch. When I received it, I didn't have to go through a multiple hour song and dance of deleting useless and/or unnecessary apps/ads. I do wish the speaker volume was a bit louder, and that I could set the volume separately for different apps. All in all, I adore this phone and would (and WILL) buy it again if anything happens to the one I currently own.

I love this phone! It replaced my awful LG Stylo that gave me so many problems. It's fast, reliable, & doesn't freeze or glitch. It switches between applications smoothly & quickly. It comes with a good amount of memory which is what I was looking for to hold a lot of apps. The camera decent but not high tier. I don't take a lot of photos & would rather have more memory anyway. The screen is very nice too.

Just 'okay.' I bought this phone less than 3 months ago and last week it suddenly wouldn't charge to 100%. After charging it for 10 hours last night it was on 39% this morning. The call quality is great, it pairs easily with UConnect in my vehicle and the apps I've downloaded seem to run smoothly. A big drawback is the lack of ability to open MMS or picture texts while on wifi. I went from an S3 to this phone because the charging port went bad in my S3. I assumed that being a newer model, that it would be a better phone, but clearly, considering the battery failure after less than 3 months of moderate use and the MMS/picture text issue, it is certainly not an upgrade from the S3. I would not buy this phone again, based on my own experiences with it. I ordered an aftermarket battery on Ebay to replace the original, so hopefully that will take care of the charging issue and allow me to get some more use out of this phone before I have to replace it. Disappointing, to say the least. :-(

Ok, so I finally decided to upgrade from an HTC One SV that gave me 2 years of decent usage for an $80 initial investment. For just $60 more, I get a bigger phone with more storage, fewer useless built-in apps, and some assurance that I'll get two good years from it before I move on to the next sub-200 dollar phone. The camera sucks but I already have an excellent dedicated camera that takes pictures and video far superior to any camera-phone. The speakers and music players are so so, but I already have an excellent dedicated mp3 player. I'm not a gamer, I just use a phone for calls, texts, web-surfing, social media and maybe the occasional 2-minute video stream. No need to spend more than $150 for a phone that you need to do just that.
The Waze app on this phone does take a while to find a satellite, which is a bummer. Battery power is very good so far.
